Biles is the gymnast who has won the most World gold medals (19) and World medals (25) in the world. Biles also beats the record set by Vitaly Scherbo of 23 World medals. Biles won her 24th- and 25th place with gold medals at Stuttgart's 2019 competition. Biles holds the record for the highest number of all-around World titles (5). She's the sixth woman to win an individual all-around title both at the World Championships and the Olympics and is the first gymnast since Lilia Podkopayeva in 1996 to have both titles at the same time. Biles is the tenth and first American female gymnasts to win an overall World medal in every event. The feat was made during the 2018 World Championships. Biles was the youngest out of four siblings. When Shanon's grandchildren were being cared for in foster homes, Ron Biles (Biles' maternal grandfather) and Nellie Cayetano Biles (his second wife) began to temporarily care for Shanon in Spring, Texas.
