An ex-fashion model of the top class, almost 5'10'' in height, Carey was an a fan favorite of high-end American designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was a distinguished geologist, who was awarded the title of Scientist of the Year in 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey was raised across the globe due to her father's career. As she attended an institution called the University of Colorado at part-time when she was discovered to be the target of a Ford model Agency representative in New York. After moving to France, where she briefly was a resident in Paris, Bordeaux and New York She decided that she would return in New York and continue her education. Soon, Vogue, Glamour and various other magazines featured her on their covers. While modeling, she continued to study at a full-time level for a literary major within New York University. When she arrived in New York she began to pursue acting. The year 1986 was the year she had her first role in acting, a bit part in Club Paradise, with Robin Williams. When she is not working, she enjoys skiing, windsurfing, climbing rocks as well as whitewater river rafting.
