Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue E. Taylor Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American producer and actor, is known for playing in the film Ray Undercover Brother as well as appearing in The Mentalist. She graduated with an B.A. in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer active in theater, film and TV. Her acting journey began as a theater actress and then appeared in numerous shows on television as well as independent and mainstream movies. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she won critical acclaim as well as numerous nominations and awards, including her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. She made her professional debut as Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. The stage credits she has received include The Broadway show of the Joe Turner musical Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis.
